The nearest mass was in Soda Springs, Id just 15 minutes from where I stopped for the night so I was on time for once. It was a quaint little church with the only windows made of opaque blocks in the shape of a cross. The homily was blunt and to the point, if you want to get into heaven, be good!

I had to explore this town with a Geyser that went off every hour and was almost as high as old faithful. Apparently when they were drilling for water, they hit this geyser that finally had to be capped and is now engineered such that it goes off every hour. However, when I got there, the sign said due to technical difficulties closed until further notice.

I got to peek through the window to see the restored Tallly-ho Yellowstone coach that president, Theodore Roosevelt, and the naturalists, John Muir and John Burrows used on the presidential entourage park tour of Yellowstone national Park. Regular tours of the park took five days at the cost of $40 including your meals and room and was the only means of transportation in the park for 36 years ending in 1916.

Idaho scenery can be beautiful in its own right with sculptured mountains and endless, I assume, wheat fields with thousands of bales laying in the fields as far as your eye could see.

Well, then came a little sliver of Utah. A sign said no services for the next 128 miles. Well, I had a half a tank of gas and I was hungry so prudence dictated that I turn around and go back about 10 miles to the last little town to fill her up and get a treat of A&W root beer, which they say they make them selves. Why they don't put the sign warning of no services before you leave the little town is beyond me.

So soon I was in Nevada and was beginning to fade so found a truck stop in Wells, Nevada with an Indian restaurant would you believe. So after preparing for my morning patient at 8:00 ( now 2 hours behind) I gratefully bedded down with the truckers with a belly full of delicious chicken curry, and chai tea.
