It's 4 AM and I feel a kiss goodbye and hear the hotel door click shut as Britta slips out to catch the shuttle to her 5:45 AM flight to New York.
I finally got up by 7 AM and snuck Sheba out the back door as it was a” no pets allowed” hotel. The goal was to get the luggage rack out of the Casita and either put it back into the car or reattach to the back bumper of the Casita. So I pulled everything out out of the car onto a heap in the parking lot, E bike, tools, grill, equipment, etc. etc. My marvelous sons put their adopted Morfar engineer genes to work and re -bent the rack with a tire jack and brute force, and then tied it to the spare tire, so it was sufficiently off the ground. I was repacked and organized in time to say final goodbye to Tim and Shane as they took the shuttle to the airport and I got my nose back to the grindstone with my first patient of the day.
The next order of the day was to get to an Apple Store to fix the battery on my aging Mac.
As sort of expected, I was advised to buy a new computer instead of sinking money into one so close to death. The migration operation, however, to transfer everything to the new computer would take 48 hours and I had a full day of patients on Wednesday and Thursday so moved as much as I could to Wednesday with the idea of bringing it in as soon as possible on Thursday and hopefully picking it up by Friday. Then headed for the nearest Cracker Barrel to bed down for the night.
