The people in the fifth wheel next to me obviously had new E bikes also as they didn't know how to change gears either. They took off for the 17 mile beautifully paved and even center striped bike trail.that follows the highway. There must be a place to leave your car,but I didn't see it.. Other than playing around with it a little bit at the cabin in Minn,, I haven't found a need or a place suitable to use the bike yet, but I am sure I will.

I spent the morning getting serious about whether I should go to Oregon to meet my new niece and then try to get to Canada from Washington. The ferry is cheaper off-season as you might expect except Sean's Karate buddy who lived there advises that most everything shuts down by mid August. It can even snow before September. So it might be cheaper but once again ,You get what you pay for. Brenda, my niece says it was 102 in Portland yesterday. It's about 12 hours either way to Portland or to Yosemite so it is now, Yosemite or bust. Alaska will have to wait.!

We took off back down that beautiful John D Rockefeller Jr. Memorial highway all the way to the main park headquarters with its impressive interpretive center, and of course a Ranger talk on all the two toed animals in the park. I lucked out on finding a spot to park that looked out over the mountains, and that I could set up a chair and my little table to do some bookwork and enjoy the scenery before heading on out of the park. As we went through Jackson hole, I think I once went skiing there and Sean reminds me that he and Kevan and I were on a Wilderness Society horseback trail ride about 50 years ago now in the Gros Ventre wilderness near there, but then I can't remember what I had for breakfast. I do keep pinching myself to make sure it isn't all just a wonder dream.

I found a little RV "park" in Idaho to settle in for the night. My phone is not syncing photos to my computer so for now, you'll simply have to use your imagination.
